Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 May 2026

This policy covers how tjek handles personal information across our marketing site (tjek.dev) and the tjek apps for macOS, iPadOS, iOS, and the command line.

The short version

Your API requests, secrets, and credentials stay on your device. They're never sent to us. We collect only what we need to run the waitlist and basic site analytics. We don't sell data, and we don't share it for advertising.

What we collect

On the marketing site

  • If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you provide so we can write back to you.
  • We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visitors and see which pages are read. No third-party trackers, no ad cookies, no fingerprinting.

In the apps and CLI

  • Your requests, environments, mocks, and test results live in your own Git repository and device Keychain. We don't have access to them.
  • Secrets referenced as {{secrets.X}} resolve from your Keychain, 1Password, Vault, or Doppler at execution time. Their resolved values never leave your machine.
  • Crash reports are sent only with your explicit consent and contain no request bodies, no response payloads, and no secret values.
  • On the Reliability tier, hosted probes execute the routes you've assigned to them. The request and response bodies for each probe run are retained for 30 days for incident review, then automatically deleted.

How we use it

  • The waitlist email is used to send you a single launch announcement.
  • Analytics inform design and content decisions. They are never tied back to individuals.
  • Probe execution history is used solely to give you incident dashboards and SLO trend lines.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing. The only third parties involved are the sub-processors we use to run the service:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the website and the global probe network.
  • Postmark, which sends the launch announcement email.

Cookies

The marketing site sets a single first-party cookie for session continuity. There are no third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing privacy@tjek.dev. We respond within 30 days. Under GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes are also announced by email if you've joined the waitlist.
